The 2021 model year lineup of Ram 1500 trucks are seeing the most noteworthy changes of all. Apart from the expansion, there is also the inclusion of a new powerplant that will push the horsepower to 702 in the TRX models. But there are other changes as well, after which the 2021 Ram 1500 models will be all set to go for the sale in the coming months. The changes are mostly done on the existing trims that get new bunches of technology to be playing onboard. In addition to that Ram announced the launch of a new Special Edition named Limited Longhorn to join this year lineup.
What we learned from the most popular Portage Ram dealer is that, till now a configurator is not announced for the 2021 model year editions of Ram trucks except for the TRX models, but order options will be made available in short, they assured.
Changes on the Technology Front
At the technology front, the 2021 model year editions of Ram 1500 are witnessing the addition of a head-up display unit, which is also the first FCA vehicle that is going to be using it. The unit will allow the driver to browse through five menus, which will include all the relevant pieces of information that comes with the turn-by-turn navigation process. It will also show the speed and its limit, at a certain road. To assist the driver with maneuvering the vehicle, there will be adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist and all this will be displayed through an HUD with 12-inch Uconnect 4C infotainment screen at work.
There will also be a new 9.2-inch digital rearview mirror which will join the list of optional features in the 2021 model year lineup. All this will be expanding the availability and usability of the latest technology. Coming to the driving dynamics side, ram has already announced the launch of a new Trailer Reverse Steering Control feature that will come as a part of the current Trailer Package. It will allow the driver to access the one-dial control that will come handy to create a backup for a trailer.
Here we must mention that Ram has earlier announced about the launch of a Snow-Plow Prep option in March, which will now join the 2021 Ram 1500 lineup. The package will bring a 220-amp alternator which is a heavy-duty machine to carry out heavier tasks of a truck. Other changes include harnessing a wiring that will activate a rear power sliding window enabled with a defroster.
